Call for Symposia and Contributions

SUBMISSION OF SYMPOSIUM IS CLOSED

NEW : DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 14 FEBRUARY -

YOU CAN'T MISS IT AS IT IS VALENTINE'S DAY

We invite conference participants to propose symposia and to contribute to oral and poster sessions. Oral presentations will be held in parallel sessions, and accommodations for daily presentation of 300 posters can be made. All proposals, abstracts, lists of symposium speakers, and titles should be sent to the Chair by January 14, 2010 February, 14, 2010 (extended)  CLOSED  when they will have been reviewed by the academic committee for final acceptance. Paper and poster topics reflecting the FSD2010 Symposium’s main themes are particularly encouraged, including:

  1. Organismal and natural history oriented research;
  2. Movement ecology, dispersal kernels, and genetic effects;
  3. Ecology and evolution of frugivory and seed dispersal; and
  4. Impact of anthropogenic disturbance and climate change on seed dispersal systems.

Research from all habitat-types and global regions will be considered. We look forward to a rich celebration of 25 years of Frugivory and Seed Dispersal Symposium-Workshops, and encourage submission of original research from all scholars, including students, junior researchers, and senior scientists.

The final number and choice of selected symposium title will depend on the responses to call for contributions and talks. Parallel sessions will be 6-8 talks per symposium, and up to 16 talks during Thursday 17 June afternoon and Friday 18 June morning.

The number of parallel symposia is limited  (3-5 max) to encourage interaction between participants, and avoid too much commuting between concurrent sessions (as often the case at meeting) during the two last days of the week. Overall, the total number of contributions  (plenary session) and talks (concurrent symposium session) will be  24 and 48 respectively.  Nonetheless, if the demand is greater than expected, we still have options for additional parallel sessions, though in smaller rooms (80 pers.). Symposium may also be organized in parallel to Workshop on Friday morning (up to 56 slots total depending on submission).

The organizers can not offer direct financial support to symposium organizers.
