Dung beetles are dispersers of seeds found in mammal feces. While they bury animal dung - to be used as their own food and to provide food for their young - they contribute to ecosystem health (removal of waste, control of dung-breeding pests, soil fertilization and aeration) and functioning (secondary seed dispersal).
