We need primates to offer a free ecological service to ecosystems: seed dispersal

Read the article by Jeremy Hance from Mongabay.com entitled "Humans push half of the world's primates toward extinction, lemurs in particular trouble". Why do we need them on earth ? We need Primates  because many of them are frugivore and disperse tens of housand of seeds in their poop or  after spitting them while foraging into the canopy or above ground. Primates are the main target of hunters and the first to suffer from deforestation and habitat fragmentation. These topics will be highlighted by many participants coming from around the planet  (Africa, America, Asia, Australasia and Europe) to speak on behalf of Primates at FSD2010 in Montpellier.
