Virtual Meeting
Biodiversity and Climate Change web conferencing. Our meetings also need to change (see Green Meeting Guide 2009 edited by UNDP) in order to minimize carbon loss (due to travel), though a web conference will never replace a discussion eye-into-eye with a good glass of wine and cheese in hand, especially at Montpellier, France. Thus, with help of Le Corum - Enjoy Montpellier we intend to organize a Virtual Meeting for those who cannot attend FSD2010. Each registered virtual participant will have a login and PW, to see PPT presentations and hear the presenters. Posters will be downloadable as pdf. Nonetheless, this has a high cost for the organization. We wish to have your opinion about the fee you will be able to pay for this service. If we are sponsored, then it will be free as done by Smithsonian Institution (see below). See the on-going discussion about why support is truely needed, and how paying a fee may also contribute to rise a fund to grant students to attend the meeting. Thank you. The organizers.
